Join the team at Paddock Farm in Warwickshire to learn about how Nick and Jon Francis have built a diversified and sustainable farm business whilst reducing their reliance on soya. Paddock Farm is home to a herd of 100% pasture- fed Hereford cattle, Tamworth pigs, laying hens, and a market garden, supplying to Paddock Farm butchery and a network of restaurants and chefs. All of the Francis pigs are soya free and reared on pasture, with rotational grazing techniques adopted to maximise the use of forage and maintain soil cover. Free lunch will be provided!
This event is part of a series of educational farm walks on the subject of reducing soya in pig and poultry systems, highlighting farmers who are demonstrating different approaches to extensive/pastured pig & poultry systems and working towards deforestation-free (soya free) status, as part of a joint project between the Landworkers Alliance, Sustain, Pasture for Life and Hodmedod.
