About the Event
The recent closure of Long Compton Abattoir has highlighted how fragile our local meat supply chains are. There are also untapped opportunities in the region. The team (Tim Field, Jonty Brunyee and Jack Knott) from the North East Cotswold Farmer Cluster are currently working on a number of projects that are seeking to build resilience and diversity in the system, and stimulate new enterprise. Join us on March 11th at FarmED to feed in your thinking and needs, and to hear more about:
- The Save Long Compton Abattoir Campaign
- The Cotswold Abattoir Study - Survey Findings and Draft Recommendations
- Mobile Abattoirs – Brief Update
- The Cotswold Deer & Venison Project – Progress To Date
Members of the North East Cotswold Farmer Cluster, as well as stakeholders from the wider farming and meat and food systems sector, are all welcome.
This is a free event (supported by West Oxfordshire District Council and FiPL) but please register your attendance asap as numbers are limited.
2.30 – 5.30 (arrive for coffee/cake from 2.00).
